Prosecutor General's Office of Russia signs Agreement on Cooperation with Belize

On May 13, 2021, the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation Igor Krasnov held a virtual meeting with the Attorney General of Belize Magali Marin Young, during which an Agreement on Cooperation between the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation and the Attorney General's Ministry of Belize was signed.

Igor Krasnov noted that Russia and Belize adhere to positions widely accepted by the international community on many issues. Almost two years ago, the Treaty on the Basics of Relations between Russia and Belize entered into force. It is in the development of these interstate agreements, that the Agreement on Cooperation was concluded. “I am sure that this document will become a real instrument that will help increase the efficiency of activities in the fight against crime, and the measures and forms of cooperation it envisages will be successfully implemented in practice,” the Russian Prosecutor General said.

Igor Krasnov emphasized that the Russian prosecutor's office strives for dynamism in order to comply with the constantly evolving public relations in various fields. Every effort is being made to timely and promptly respond to new challenges and threats. Many of them, for example, cybercrime, illegal use of digital currency to commit crimes and money laundering, require close cooperation with foreign colleagues.

The Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation expressed a firm commitment to the further development of cooperation between the prosecution authorities of Russia and Belize.
